I have many reasons to love February 14th, but the one that matters the most to me is that this is the day that my wonderful husband and I got married. It was a second marriage for both of us and a truly joyful occasion. Our three children were in the wedding party, and only our immediate family members were with us at the brief but meaningful ceremony.
Then we had an open house and invited all of our friends to our home for a party. We and our family made all of the food, and a good time was had by all.
Now twenty-seven years later we are still having a wonderful time together, and we have three grandsons who enrich our lives.
Valentine’s Day is special because it revolves around love. We can all take the time to show our appreciation and respect to our family, our friends, our teachers, our students, our colleagues, and even people we interact with frequently like the pharmacy tech that helps us with our prescriptions and the grocery clerk at the super market.
It isn’t necessary to buy expensive gifts or cards to express your feelings. Just smile and tell those people you really care about that they are special to you and that you appreciate them. Your words just might make their day!
Because I appreciate you and the fact that you are reading my blog post, I have a small gift for you. Click here for a free sheet of notes that you can print, customize, and then give to the people in your life that you wish to acknowledge.
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
