I have always loved creative writing – as a student I loved the opportunity to let my mind go crazy with ideas for a story or poem. However, I’m well aware that many students don’t share my love and enthusiasm for writing and as a result often have a difficult time coming up with something to write about. Here’s a set of 64 story starter cards to use with your students to inspire creative writing or poetry. There are 32 cards with a starter sentence and 32 cards with three words and a picture to help students get started with writing. I’ve also included some winter themed writing paper – no color printer needed!
Check out this product and several other Winter themed writing activities at my TpT store.

I have over 12 years of teaching experience with students from Grade 6 - 12, teaching English, Social Studies and Science. I really enjoy teaching and love to try new things every year with my students. Whether it's a new strategy or a new technology, I think it's important to stay current with what's going on in the wonderful world of education. I believe that it's important to PROVOKE my students into thinking, RELATE their learning to their lives, REVEAL information to them and lastly (and perhaps most importantly) INVOLVE them in the process.
Very fun and appealing activities!
